Q : Can my friends/family drive the rental vehicle ?
A : Only the Hirer is allowed to drive the rental vehicle. Additional driver(s) is subjected to Owner's approval and a surcharge is required.
Q : What are the insurance that is being covered on the rental vehicle ?
A : Only Third party insurance coverage for the rental Vehicle. The insurance excess amount is $2500. For young driver (age < 22 years old), or older driver (over 60 years old), and/or inexperience (less than 2 years), insurance excess is $5,000.
Q : If I cancel my booking or return the rental vehicle earlier, do I get a refund or discount ?
A : No refund of deposit for booking cancellation. No discount or pro-rate for early return of vehicle.
Q : Under what conditions will my deposit be forfeited ?
A : Vehicle must be return in same condition as given. Deposit will be forfeited if:
- Cigarette smell or pet hair is found in the cabin.
- Vomit or stain in the vehicle.
- Burnt/damage to the upholstery, dashboard or interior of the Vehicle.
- Scrap/dent/damage to exterior of the Vehicle.
- Excessive dirt found in/on the Vehicle.
- Lost of key, damages to windscreen or window panels and tyre.
Q : Do I need to pump back to the same fuel level when I return the car ?
A : Fuel level of the return Vehicle should be same or above the level when the Vehicle is taken. Surcharges of $10($15>1,600cc) is chargeable for every incremental level.
Q : What happens if the car breaks down during the rental period ?
A : Break down due to empty tank, punctured tyre, key lock inside the Vehicle or any other event resulting in the breakdown of the Vehicle due to the Hirer's negligence or wilful act or omission is the responsibility of the Hirer. $80 per trip is chargeable for the Owner's breakdown & Towing service in mainland Singapore.
Q : I have forgot and left my belongings on the rental vehicle, does your company help to keep it so I can get it back at a later time ?
A : Before return the Vehicle, Hirer is to clear any personal belongings in the vehicle and Owner will not be liable or return any belonging that may have been left behind, including cash card and parking coupon.
Q : What happens if I forgot to pay my rental fee on time ?
A : Failure to pay rental fee on time will result in the termination of the Agreement. Hirer shall return the Vehicle in good working condition. Failing which, the Owner shall regain physical possession of the Vehicle as the Owner deems fit and the Hirer shall be liable for the cost incurred to find and repossessed the Vehicle. The Hirer irrevocably authorizes the Owner or its agent without notice to enter upon premises where the Vehicle maybe found and regain physical possession of the Vehicle without being liable for any action or proceeding at the suit of the Hirer or any person claiming through him.
Q : If I wish to extend my rental period, what should I do ?
A : Extension of hire must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance and an advance payment is required to extend the rental period, failing which the hirer is driving without insurance.
Q : Can I drive to Malaysia ?
A : Vehicle is NOT ALLOW to be driven out of Singapore unless Drivethru is inform and additional insurance is purchased.
Q : How should I pay for the Rental ?
A : Rental Charge for the intended period plus a refundable security deposit is payable upon taking delivery of the vehicle. Additional charges will be imposed if GPS, Baby car seat , Booster seat etc is require. All payments are in CASH terms.
Q : What are the charges for late return of vehicle ?
A : Late return of Vehicle will be chargeable as follow:
- $10 every 1 hour for the first 4 hours (<1,600cc)
- $20 every 1 hour for the first 4 hours (>1,600cc)
- 1 day charges applicable if more then 4 hours
VFMPL takes and values your privacy very seriously. To ensure that your personal information is secure, we communicate and enforce our privacy and security guidelines according to the Personal Data Protection Act 2012(“the Act”).
We take precautions to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, misuse, as well as against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or similar risks. We impose very strict sanction controls and only authorized staff on a need-to-know basis is given access to or will handle your personal date. We provide regular training to all staff on this Policy, and to keep them abreast of any new development in privacy laws and regulations in Singapore.
VFMPL collects, uses and discloses your personal data only for the purpose of providing you with the services and benefits of your insurance policy purchased from us, including when handling a claim made by you and for conducting customer surveys. In this regard, we may disclose your personal data to business partners (including reinsurers, brokers and bank partners), associates and third party service providers when reasonably necessary, and on a need-to-know basis. We will require these parties to protect personal data they may receive from us in a manner consistent with this Policy. We do not allow them to use the personal data for any other purpose. We will not sell your personal data to any person for any reason.
We may also share your personal data with insurers as part of the industry’s efforts for proper underwriting and proper administration of claims.
With effect from 2 Jan 2015, as a new customer of VFMPL, we will obtain your consent to send you marketing and promotional materials via SMS and phone calls. For existing VFMPL customers, we will continue to send you marketing and promotional materials through these means unless you advise us otherwise. We will also send to all customers marketing and promotional materials by direct mail or email, which you may unsubscribe any time.
We will retain your personal data for a period that is no longer than necessary for business or statutory purposes.
Under the Act, you have the right to request for information about your personal data is in our possession or under our control. You can also request for information about the ways in which your personal data has been or may have been used or disclosed by us. An administrative fee will be imposed on you for the request.
You also have the right to withdraw and consent that you have given to us:
i) for the collection, use or disclosure of your personal data, and/or
ii) for receiving marketing and promotional materials.
Please let us have any notice of withdrawal in writing, indicating your instructions clearly.
If you withdraw your consent for the collection, use or disclosure of your personal data, we will not however be able to provide you with the protection and services expected of us under the insurance policy that have been purchased from insurer. We may then, need to cancel the contract.
We will put the withdrawal into effect within forty-five (45) working days of your request.
You may write to our Personal Data Protection Officer for the above mentioned purposes.
Feedback and Queries
If you have any feedback or queries in relation to the protection of your personal data, you may also write to our Personal Data Protection Officer. We will look into your feedback or queries, and will provide you with a response within three (3) working days. If we are unable to do so, we will inform you within three (3) working days, and shall keep you updated of our progress every seven (7) working days.
